As a result of NASA's concern over the current extreme climatic events around the globe and rumours concerning the extent of Global warming by Prof. Jules Verne, Neoferma Australia has been asked to provide suitable waterproofing products for the International Space Station (ISS).

A spokes person for Neoferma, Ms. Ripley denied that there was any cause for concern with environmental issues and that EPDM gasket is as perfectly safe in space as elsewhere.

Alien life forms do not pose a threat according to Ms. Ripley.

Several hundred metres of 16-104 will be blasted into space from Cape Burleigh in the near future together with the necessary equipment for installation, a blunt brick bolster.

Well, Well,

Industry seems to be confirming most people's impression of it and profiteering from the Australian Government's efforts to cut down on our carbon footprint. Manufacturers prices of insulation batts have soared, shipping companies have doubled their rates, distributors are cashing in.

The resulting scramble for materials by installers, qualified and unqualified is proving to be very frustrating for many people, including trades that require insulation of a different grade, now finding themselves abandoned in favour of the subsidised retro fitting jackpot.

The short term result will of course be that householders will have to meet the difference between the $1600 and the inflated prices. Let's hope that the long term result will make the savings hoped for and that the next initiative will learn from the mistakes of this one.

Insulation fever has hit Australia!
A frenzy of business has been created with the Government's initiative on insulaion. Chinese; Korean and American factories are working overtime to provide sufficient glass wool batts to meet the Australian demand. New business's are springing up over night or just changing to become insulation installers, we have risen to the challenge and are shipping glass wool batts as well.
In gratitude to the Prime Minister we have branded our batts "Rudds".

Government Grants - Insulation

With the introduction of the government grants to reduce our National carbon footprint by insulating all our homes for "FREE" there has been a stampede of applications. Is the result of this initiative going to add to the world's environmental problems by increasing the resources necessary to manufacture all of the glass fibre batts? We are jumping on the band wagon and selling glass fibre batts at rock bottom prices but I wonder if there shouldn't be a levy on sales (and profits) made by resellers like our selves as well as installation companies to fund further research into more productive schemes. The positive impact from most types of insulation schemes is long term, how about taxing power usage directly thereby encouraging people to reduce their consumption and having an immediate impact.

Bentonite

In our experience a team of four men will be able to apply in excess of one thousand square metres of Bentonite membrane, such as Voltex, a day on a horizontal surface with a blinder. One of the advantages over other products is the ability for other trades to follow on immediately; another is the self healing nature of Bentonite, as shown on the left (picture of Voltex section courtesy of CETCO.)

Bentonite waterproofing membranes come in rolls of varying sizes according to the area of application, however they are all equally as simple to install, the degree of labour or machinery will be variable. Bentonite membranes are reactive rather than being passive like torch on membranes.
